Special interest area: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
I am an experienced health, scientific and medical writer who understands scientific terminology, can interpret data and cites references correctly. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Hons 1)/Bachelor of Commerce and am a member of the Australasian Medical Writers Association.
One of my special interest areas is antimicrobial resistance (AMR) communication. I am passionate about translating complex AMR issues and data into clear, impactful, evidence-based messages.
I turn complex public health data and scientific information into concise, easy-to-understand and engaging AMR content for all stakeholders. I write targeted copy for diverse audiences such as medical specialists, technical experts, allied health, patients and the general public.
I was involved in publishing the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care’s AURA 2023: Fifth Australian Report on Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Human Health report, which analysed data and highlighted trends in antimicrobial use and AMR in Australian acute and community healthcare settings (1). I provided project management, editorial and proofreading services. I also wrote targeted materials to communicate AURA 2023 key messages to aged care, allied health, primary care and pharmacy audiences.
I recently co-published a paper with CSIRO on point-of-care testing as a strategy for antimicrobial stewardship, the responsible use of antimicrobials (2).

I wrote a series of articles for AMR Action+Insights, an initiative of Minimising Antimicrobial Resistance that worked to halt the rising death rate and economic burden of AMR in Australia by 2030, including articles on AMR issues in sexual health and in food, areas not typically considered in AMR (3).
I managed the end-to-end publication of the Sixth Australian Report on Antimicrobial Use and Resistance in Human Health, including report planning and ideation, stakeholder management, and report writing, editing and proofreading (4).
