Health, scientific and medical writing
Are you looking for high-quality, evidence-based health, scientific or medical content to engage your audience? Look no further. I am an experienced health, scientific and medical writer.

I work with clients to identify, distil and articulate key messages while understanding and meeting the needs of their audiences.
I turn complex medical research and scientific information into concise, easy-to-understand and engaging content for any audience – government, medical specialists, health practitioners (e.g. aged care, GPs and allied health professionals), the general public and targeted patient groups (e.g. carers, CALD groups, Indigenous peoples and NDIS users). Because I have experience writing for many audiences, I can empathise with, understand and engage with your target audience, unlike AI content.

I source and cite the most current peer-reviewed research to ensure that content is evidence-based and backed by credible supporting references that are used correctly.
With 17 years of experience, I research, write, edit and proofread health, scientific and medical content for apps, books, blogs, CPD education modules, eBooks, eDetailers, grant proposals, interviews, journals, manuals, manuscripts, newsletters, patient resources, online education modules, reports, speeches, websites and more.

My clients know that creating high-quality medical, scientific and healthcare content requires a strong scientific background, writing expertise, a track record of successfully executing projects and knowledge of relevant guidelines and regulations, including Ahpra and TGA Advertising Code.

Client feedback
"Dear Melissa, I am so happy with what you did! Reads so much better now. More shiny and impressive now. Thank you so much." Scientific paper rewriting.

"Melissa made a real contribution in transforming our 3rd attempt into a successful NHMRC Ideas grant application. She clearly understands what granting agencies are looking for.

Most importantly, she obviously did a lot of her own research to understand the science of our grant, which is very technical – microbeam radiotherapy. From that starting point, she transformed our language into clear, succinct, logical descriptions.

She also discovered unnecessary reiteration, and in this and other ways, made a real practical contribution to meeting the challenge of the page-limit. It’s amazing how experience make a difference." Grant writing and editing.

"I had the pleasure of working with Melissa as the content writer for a complex health-related project and I am very pleased with the result. Melissa navigated the complexities of the project while remaining flexible to our evolving needs. Her attention to detail was evident in her work that she passed back to us ahead of schedule. I would be very happy to recommend her to anyone looking for a writer who is efficient, knowledgeable and easy to work with." MyHeart MyLife consumer resources creation
"Thanks so much, Melissa! Danielle and I have now both had a chance to look at it, and it's fantastic!" Infection Control Manual creation
"Melissa is easy to work with and communicates well. We hired Melissa to assist us with writing policies and procedures for our business, including position descriptions. Melissa's work was very thorough and well thought out. We would definitely hire Melissa again for future projects." Aged Care start-up manual creation.
